First of all, I want to say what is Modular phone the answer lies in my post . A Modular smartphone
is an Cellphone where you can separate the parts of the phone and again can assembled it together known to be “Modules”.The idea of the Modular consists of small which can be upgraded and can also
be replaced as individually with the user’s needs and preferences.
The parts which can be replaced or upgraded are storage,battery,screen and all kinds of sensors
with the concept the people can save lot of money as they don't need to throw the old phone if any parts are been damaged,they only have to replace-or upgrade according to their needs to keep the phone to be in latest Trends.
Now, the question arises that the Modular phone came into being which was never heard
before.So, the concept lies when the Modular phone gain its popularity after a Dutch designer DAVE
HAKKENS when he announced the new concept phone known as “PHONEBLOKS”.The phonebloks are same as Modular phones whose parts can be separated and again joined.
About sometime earlier when the phonebloks was announced by DAVE the concept was picked by the one of the largest electronic makers and blue chip company
MOTOROLA(Advance Technology And Project) group owned later by Google and managed by the director
of (Defense Advance Research And Project Agency)
“Regina Dugan”.After than Google started to work and gave the name as project ARA.
Looks:- ARA consists of an Backbone which is known as” ENDOSKELETON”(ENDO)-it is an aluminium frame with slots of the Modules which are attached to the Endo with help of the Electromagnet magnets.
Endo connects all the Modules by a special type of protocol called “MIPI M-PHY And Unipro. The modules
connects together and communicate with each other through a hitech packet switch network.The parts which are likely to be attached in the front of Endo are the User Screen,Reciver,Microphone).And the other parts like NFC,Bluetooth,Wifi,Processor,Battery are attached to the back
side of the Endo.
Cost:- The of ARA may be vary with the Modules user uses but normally it will be $30 to $300,
according to the Modular upgrade.
